Five years ago, the two oldest children of ORG’s Jonathan Berns--Josh and Danielle--came up with the idea of starting The Race, which was designed to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. The idea came to them during a time when a close friend’s mother was battling breast cancer. Since its inception, The Race has raised almost $350,000 for breast cancer research and awareness, and attracted over 1000 people to Legacy Village last year for the event.
The Race has honored some very special people in the past. This year’s honorary co-chair is Amy Green, who is currently battling Stage IV breast cancer. She has been a photographer for Flashes fo Hope, an organization which creates portraits of children with cancer, for a number of years. Please join The Race to show support for Amy and her family at The Race 2009.
