Exports of goods and services have grown in recent months and are encouraged by the government, yet exporting is not a right, it is a privilege. Whilere there are good opportunities to export today, penalties for violations of export laws and regulations have increased significantly. similarly, import regulations have become more stringent since September 2001. These factors challenge U.S. companies in a global economy.
Familiarity and compliance with import and export regulations cannot be ignored, overlooked, or minimized because the consequences could be significant. Adopting proactive policies and strategies is a part of good risk management and helps to keep the U.S. safe and secure.
