Alzheimer’s Association 32nd Annual Joseph M. Foley Lecture is October 15
Learn About the Latest in Alzheimer’s Research
WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS – The Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Joseph M. Foley Lecture is set for October 15, 2019, from 3 to 6:30 p.m., at Corporate College East, 4400 Richmond Rd., Warrensville Heights, OH 44122. Doors open at 3 p.m. Light refreshments served. The event is free and open to all.
Attendees will learn more about Alzheimer’s disease and hear about the latest in Alzheimer’s research from an Alzheimer’s Association research team expert.
The event includes a new twist this year. Attendees will choose one of two opening session programs (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.) preceding the lecture.
Guests will choose from “Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body,” and learn about lifestyle choices that may help you keep your brain and body healthy as you age, or “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia.” This program is designed to provide you with basic information about memory loss issues and what they mean for all of us.
The Foley Lecture (5 to 6:30 p.m.) will be delivered by Rebecca M. Edelmayer, Ph.D. Edelmayer will address “Advancing the Science: The Latest in Alzheimer’s Research.” Tremendous gains have been made in the understanding of the science and basic biology underlying Alzheimer’s disease. These advances are leading to great strides in prevention, detection, diagnostics and therapeutic interventions. Q&A will follow the lecture.
One Social Work CEU will be available for both the opening session program and for the Foley Lecture. (Total of 2 Social Work CEUs available.)
Edelmayer leads efforts to accelerate the scientific agenda of the Alzheimer’s Association through the creation and delivery of ongoing research education. In addition, she manages initiatives uniting researchers and clinicians with leaders of industry, regulatory agencies and the government.
