Foley Lecture is October 15\n\nLearn About the Latest in Alzheimer's Research\n\n \n\nWARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS   The Alzheimer's Association's annual Joseph M. Foley Lecture is set for October 15\, 2019\, from 3 to 6:30 p.m.\, at Corporate College East\, 4400 Richmond Rd.\, Warrensville Heights\, OH 44122. Doors open at 3 p.m. Light refreshments served. The event is free and open to all. \n\n\n\nAttendees will learn more about Alzheimer's disease and hear about the latest in Alzheimer's research from an Alzheimer's Association research team expert.\n\n\n\nThe event includes a new twist this year. Attendees will choose one of two opening session programs (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.) preceding the lecture. \n\n\n\nGuests will choose from "Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body\," and learn about lifestyle choices that may help you keep your brain and body healthy as you age\, or "Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia." This program is designed to provide you with basic information about memory loss issues and what they mean for all of us. \n\n\n\nThe Foley Lecture (5 to 6:30 p.m.) will be delivered by Rebecca M. Edelmayer\, Ph.D. Edelmayer will address "Advancing the Science: The Latest in Alzheimer's Research." Tremendous gains have been made in the understanding of the science and basic biology underlying Alzheimer's disease. These advances are leading to great strides in prevention\, detection\, diagnostics and therapeutic interventions. Q&A will follow the lecture.\n\n\n\nOne Social Work CEU will be available for both the opening session program and for the Foley Lecture. (Total of 2 Social Work CEUs available.) \n\n\n\nEdelmayer leads efforts to accelerate the scientific agenda of the Alzheimer's Association through the creation and delivery of ongoing research education. In addition\, she manages initiatives uniting researchers and clinicians with leaders of industry\, regulatory agencies and the government. \n\n\n\nRegistration is required by calling toll-free: 800.272.3900.\n\n\n\nThe program was developed by the Cleveland Area Chapter's Professional Advisory Board and is supported in part by the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
