The City of Beachwood will be hosting "See the Possibilities" on Monday, January 12, 2009, from 12:30-1:30 PM at the Beachwood Community Center.
The program will led by Tom Sawyer, Assistive Technology Representative from the Cleveland Sight Center, who will be sharing the ONYX Deskset 17, a magnfication machine for reading the newspaper, books, periodicals, etc. Attendees will have the opportunity to use this machine and experience art. View the current exhibit and through the capabilities of the machine experience the beautiful colors and details of the art.
This will be a free presentation by the Cleveland Sight Center, a nonprofit agecny servingt individuals of all ages who are visually impaired. The Center has the tools and programs to help individuals with macular degeneration remain more independent and live a better quality life. Along with the presentation, there will be items on hand that can be used a home, school, work or on the go, as well as information on the Low Vision Clinic, Talking Books, and the Radio Reading service.
Although the program is FREE, registration is required. Deadline to register is January 8th.
Bring a brown bag lunch, beverages and dessert will be provided.
