Sarbanes-Oxley: Impact on Small and Medium Size Enerprises

It has been six years since Sarbanes-Oxley was passed into law and it represents the most widespread changes to securities laws in more than 70 years. While this legislation has mostly affected large publicly-held companies and their auditors, some smaller and medium-sized entities have bcome subject to the law as well. The seminar will examine the major sections of Sarbases-Oxley, what the beenfits of adopting some of these requirements may be, and the impact that compliance may have on your organization.
Heidi H. Meier, DBA, CPA, is a Professor of Accounting at the Nance College of Business Adminstration, teaching courses in Internal Auditing, Advanced Auditing, and Financial and Managerial Accounting. She is a member of the Board of Governors of the Northeast Ohio Institute of Internal auditors and is past Vice-President of the Cleveland Chapter of the Ohio Society of CPAs. She has developed and provided on-site training progranms for many Cleveland area organizations and has published numerous articles in academic and practitioner journals.
