Len Barker played baseball from 1976 to 1987 for four teams: Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, and Milwlaukee Brewers. He posted a career record of 74-76, with an earn-run average of 4.34.
2011 is the 30th anniverary of Len Barker's pitching the 10th perfect game in baseball history and the 2nd Tribe player to retire all 27 batters without allowing a runner to reach base! It was May 15, 1981, damp, a small crowd of only 7,290 at Cleveland Municipal Stadium when Len Barker made baseball history when he pitched a perfect game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Barker, who resides in Geauga County, operated a construction and remodeling business, which he learned from friends while living in Georgia, both during his playing days with the Braves and after his retirement from baseball.
He is currently pitching coach at Notre Dame College in South Euclid.
