SUMMARY:October 2018 Beachwood Chamber Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Beachwood Chamber October Luncheon\n\n \n\nLUNCHEON SOLD OUT!!\n\n\n\n"Bridging the Gap Between Generations in the Workplace"\n\n\n\nGuest speaker\n\nKathyrn Bryan\, PhD\n\nFinancial Planner\n\nSkylight Financial Group\n\n\n\nA native of Medina\, with a degree in behavioral neuroscience\, after several years in post-doctoral research\, she decided to make a change and become a financial planner. She works with a diverse array of groups such as physicians\, research scientists\, families with special needs\, businesses in transition\, and with families and businesses in the LGBTQ community.\n\n\n\nShe has been a recipient of Skylight's Rising Leader award. She has\, or is currently serving on the boards of Medina Creative Housing\, the Renee Jones Empowerment Center\, and A Place for Us. In addition\, she is currently on the Executive Board for the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging and Connecting for Kids. Most recently she was recognized by Crain's Cleveland Business as a 2016 "Forty Under 40" Honoree.\n\n\n\nWhy is this topic important? Baby Boomers and Millennials make up the majority of the workforce today. Baby Boomers may increase by 11.9 million in the near future . Millenials are the largest generation in America with 75.4 million\, spending $200 billion annually\, and stay an average of just 2 years at one position.\n\n\n\nBusinesses across the nation are struggling with how to retain good young professionals as well as how to facilitate conversations between the 3-4 generations in the current workforce. Understanding the history of generations \, including the millenial generation and the Z generation coming up behind them is part of the key to business development and optimization.\n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you at this month's luncheon as we discuss ways to understand and bridge this gap.\n\n \n\nLuncheon Menu\n\nGinger bourbon chicken\n\nSummer grilled vegetables\n\nConfetti balsamic rice\n\nTossed salad\n\nChocolate chip bars and mini buckeyes\n\n\n\n** As a friendly reminder to those attending\, only the luncheon sponsor may put their information on the tables for the guests. We welcome all others to leave their information at the registration table or hand it out to folks before the luncheon begins. **\n\n\n\n** If you put your information on the tables or chairs\, it will be removed. **
