DESCRIPTION:Our Wednesday\, November 17th luncheon will be held at Maggiano's Little Italy at Beachwood Place Mall.  As always\, we will receive a warm welcome\, a family-style meal\, and a great location for networking prior to the luncheon.  Remember\, arrive no later than 11:40 AM and be entered to win a FREE lunch at an upcoming event.\n\n\n\nAs we enter the holiday season\, we and our sponsor -- Meyers\, Roman\, Friedberg & Lewis  -- have a very special luncheon guest for you.\n\n\n\nHave you shopped at a Farmers' Market?  If yes\, you know how wonderful these markets are.  If not\, you will learn about fresh\, local produce that comes straight from the farm to you and the story behind it.\n\n\n\nOur speaker this month is Donita Anderson who\, with her husband David\, started the North Union Farmers Market at Shaker Square in a spare room in their home. \n\n\n\nOn opening day in 1995\, 6 farms participated\, 500 shoppers came\, and the market sold out within half an hour! At the height of Ohio's produce season\, an average of 65 vendors come to the Square with crowds of nearly 4\,000.  Since its start in 1995\, the North Union Farmers Market has grown to include markets at Crocker Park\, Lakewood\, Cleveland Clinic\, Cleveland State University\, and Chagrin Falls.  And January through March 2001 the Shaker Square market moved indoors at the Square.  \n\n\n\nThe Market is named for the North Union Shakers (1822-1889) whose land became the major part of Shaker Heights. \n\n\n\nCost: $25--members\; $30--nonmembers\n\n\n\nTo ensure seating\, register no later than Friday\, November 13th.
