DESCRIPTION:Join the Beachwood Chamber on Wednesday\, June 30th11:30 AM - 1:15 PMat the Hilton Cleveland East/Beachwood3663 Park East Drive to hear from Brian Zimmerman\, the new Executive Director of Cleveland Metroparks\, as of March 15\, 2010.  He is the 6th executive director on the Metroparks' 93-year history. He was formerly with Milwaukee County Parks\, Recreation and Culture\, whose early county commissioners conceived of a park system that would form a "green belt" or series of scenic drives and parks encircling the county\, now consisting of 15\,000 acres. He joins the Cleveland Metroparks\, consisting of a 22\,000 acre "emerald necklace" and zoo. He believes in a balance of passive recreation (walking)\, active recreation (golf\, etc.)\, and conservancy\, as well as the educational role\, linking the next generation to the park system. Please join us and our luncheon sponsor\, Allied Door Systems\, on the 30th. Cost: $25--members\;  $30--nonmembers Online RSVPs close Friday\, June 25th.  If you have special dietary requirements\, please note under comments no later than the 25th. Arrive no later than 11:40 AM to be entered into our drawing for a free lunch.
